Greek mountain tea (sideritis raeseri) or Greek ironwort is a highly popular aromatic herbal tea. It is collected and dried in late July. Naturally caffeine-free, it has a mild, sweet flavor and proven anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and anti-oxidant properties. Although it is known as warding off cold, it is also rich in anti-oxidants, especially flavonoids, and helps reduce stress and lower blood pressure. It is best served hot, with a teaspoon of thyme honey and a few drops of lemon juice.
